About the Narziss und Goldmund Pianotrio
Founded in Belgium in the fall of 1999. Narziss und
Goldmund is referring to Herman Hesse's brilliant novel (1930), about
Narziss, an ascetical, devoted to spirituality through real disipline
and ratio, while Goldmund, a mere emotional being, though profoundly
profoundly admiring Narziss, search the same goals midst a wordly life,
as an artist. Antipoles yes, but both are truly devoted to each other.
Such alike the Narziss und Goldmund Pianotrio,
honestly believe they can achieve in their musical insights the same
balance in emotion and intellectual approaches as the Hesse's
protagonists did.
The Narziss & Goldmund Pianotrio is becoming quite
prominent. They had therefore been coached by JJ. Kantarow, Maria
Meerovitch and Viviane Spanoghe. During a master class in Brussels (Palais
des beaux arts, fall 2000) they have been selected by Valentin Erben and
Thomas Kakuska, members of the Alban Berg string quartet, to perform on
the final day of the master class. Not a surprise, the trio has
consequently been selected for a two year course at Köln Hochschule by
the same Alban Berg Quartet.
The trio followed master classes with the "Altenberg
Trio Wien" in Austria.
Their first CD-recording appeared in January 2003.
